| | | | aeria . "the greatest sorceress ever known!" Name: Aeria Seraphiel-Gloris Gender: Female Age: 39 Wing Color: Bright Pink Physical Appearance: Physically, Aeria is mostly nothing worth noting. Her hair is long and dark, with straight, chopped bangs and strands that feather her cheeks. Her skin is a typical pale white -- even her heighy, weight and clothing style is normal. Her bust size, while on the "large" side, is also nothing worth boasting about. The one thing that seems out of place in her mundane appearance is her eyes -- foxlike and a shade of electric blue that's rarely seen. Other than that, she stands at a height of 5'6", with a weight of 132 LBs. Her limbs are long, or appear to be long, though that's not really important. Clothing-wise, Aeria enjoys switching it up a lot. One day, shell be in jeans and a tshirt, the next, she'll be galavanting around in a long skirt with a ridiculous poncho and overly decorated top with puffy sleeves. Or maybe she'll decide to wear nothing. We'll see. As for images, this is my personal view of her. History: The beginning of her life was fairly normal-- born in the mountains on some country-esque planet to a young couple who had several children after her. Immediatly, Aeria was captivated by fantasy and her imagaination, she'd spend from dawn 'til dusk out in the woods playing with her imaginary friends. It was one day, when she was out on her usual routine, that everything changed. Out by a river behind her home, Aeria discovered an elderly man who urged her to "bring him some water." When asked why he didn't just drink from the river, he simply scoffed and asked if she'd realy make a famous magician drink from a river. Intrigued, she asked him to preform some magic to prove he was a magician. He obliged, only after she'd brought him water... which she snuck from the other side of the river. Not that the old man know, of course. Replenished, he put a small show on for the preteen. Watching the water sparkle as the sun glittered on it, and then as it took the shape of a pixie, Aeria decided she would become a magic user herself.
Her parents weren't too fond of the idea.
Not wanting to be held down, she ran away, immediatly, and asked the old man to be her mentor. He agreed, and introduced himself as Enki. From then on, Aeria was trained to become one of the "greatest sorceresses of our time". ...Life, it seems, had a funny way of not working out just as planned. She was horrible at magic, despite how hard she tried. Aeria dedicated her life to learning every possible trick in the book, and even focused on different magic styles (Water, then Air, then Earth, then Electricity, then Ice... The list goes on and on.), but it seemed it just wasn't meant to be. Her knowledge of the universe was extensive, sure, she'd even read books on the exclusive Xei clan... Or rather, the exiles. But none of this satisfied her. Just as she was preparing to call it quits, Enki came down with an illness: pneumonia. A week later, he passed on. A mundane and boring death. Certainly not fitting for a man like him; at least in Aeria's mind.
Sixteen and barely an adult, she set out for the world. Aeria had decided to carry on Enki's memory as best she could. Afterall, there had to be more out there than just this one planet; and there was. She bounced from planet to planet, to town to town. Her travels didn't help her skill much, but with a lot of hard work, she found she was able to cast spells using a spell book. Not as flashy as Enki's style, but it worked for her, and either way, she knew he'd have been proud of her. It wasn't soon after that her skill actually diminished -- no matter how hard she tried, her spells would always go haywire.
She didn't mind this much and simply carried on traveling. Then life changed once again. She was twenty-two, and it was on one of her random drop-bys that she met Zero and Keyo, both of who were traveling together. It was obvious Zero thought her odd, and it was also obvious to her that he was an Elfen exile.. That made him interesting to her. Different, forbidden and basically a dead man. Ever the adventure seeker, she decided to follow them on their journey.
Zero was more than reluctant, but obviously that was take care of. Somehow.
The same night she joined them, Aeria decided to antagonize Zero more than choosing to sleep with him in his bed, citing that he was a "good pillow" as her reason. Zero, despite being annoyed by her reasoning, still decided to sleep in his bed. What an interesting devolpment. And from that night on, they always shared a bed.
Throughtout all their adventures, and trust me, there was no shortage of them, there was none as complicated and difficult as the battle with Karasburo. The gang pulled through, however, and somehow managed to save the world. What a bunch of misfits. It is ironic, though, that despite the fact that Aeria practically ruined everything in their travels, she somehow ended up being a historical figure... and a "great" sorceress. Funny.
Due to his efforts, Zero's exile was lifted, and he was allowed to be "Suik" again. Not too long after, he asked Aeria to... be his wife. Hey, I said they shared a bed, didn't I? >> A few months after their wedding, Aeria discovered she was pregnant. Suik was more than horrified and Aeria found solace in throwing dressers at him. Suik then told her that were going on a trip until their child was born -- their last stop was Keyo's planet. Their son, Vincent, was born there -- Keyo "died", however, soon after Vincent's birth. She and Nyaako reunited with some princess or other.
Fast forward a bit -- Vincent's now fifteen, though he looks like a younger pre-teen, Aeria's about to hit fourty, Suik is robbing the cradle and is a detective of somesort. Aeria, on the other hand, is running a day care. Compensating for the fact she wants more children and Suik just refuses to stop wearing a condom...
Personality: Despite being on the "older" side, Aeria is quite immature. It seems she never truly grew up, but then again, she ran away from home when she was about 12 and was trying to be a magic user for most of her life, indulging her fantasies and the like. She's very loud and enjoys talking, so you can expect to see her comment on at least one of your entries. Because of her immature behaviour, she tends to come off as extremely obnoxious, and perhaps more than a little too much. Of course, this could be because she has the tendancy to jsut say what she thinks, and sometimes, it comes off a little more than snarky. Again, she's just a brat who never quite grew up.
That, however, doesn't mean she can't be relied on. She was alone for a good portion of her traveling days, and had to mostly rely on doing odd jobs and whatnots to make money. She's not particularly adept at... housework, but is oddly reliable when it comes to gathering firewood, finding a needle in the haystack, rescuing your kitten and accidentally setting it on fire if she uses a spell to get it down, and several other... odd things. Though she'll probably say she's "good at things others aren't, thus making me better than you!" Or something like that, yeah.
She's also rather arrogant and attached to her friends. As previously said, she's reliable in some situations and is more than willing to help you if you're in a bind. Or rather, she'll just get in your bussines, make a ruckus and then make everything worse. Usually, however, she does pull her own weight at the last minute, and like a true trooper, gloats about it until someone tells her to shut up. Then she whine and call s/he mean and boring.
So, what about her skills as a mother? Heavily contrasting her entire personality, Aeria loves children and enjoys taking care of them. Of course, what do you expect from a woman who runs a daycare? She'll immediatly run off to the kiddie corner in a room just so she can play with the kids. It's not uncommon for her to whine about how Vinny never does anything with her anymore... And then mention how she has to read him bedtime stories just to spend time with him. She also has a copy of Goldilocks and The Three Bears at hand at all times, but that's not important. In conclusion, she's just a woman who's desperately craving another child. Ooh, boy. Must be hard on Suik.
Speaking of her husband... Their relationship is a bit complicated. Probably because both are pretty tsundere. Anyways, Aeria's the type of person who will gnaw your arm off if you so much as look at Suik in an odd way. She's overly protective and tends to force him into going on dates with her (and she also forces him to go at it with her a lot. It's very good thing the Elfen don't need a lot of sleep, and that she has employees to help her with the daycare...), or trying to convince him that, "another baby is just what this relationship needs!" She makes a point to be with him at all times and often mentions him by saying things like, "Sorry, fellas, but you're too late!" This might be a bit more confusing, since she doesn't have a ring on her finger... But rather an earring, as per Elfen tradition. IN ANY CASE. That about sums it up, I think. ♥
Strengths: Physically, Aeria isn't quite in her best shape, but she is decent enough at combat for her to fend for herself, at least when the situation calls for it. She's practiced Capoeira, and Kendo.
Mentally, she's rather smart -- after all, she's read more historical books than she can care to count. She also no shortage of street smarts, for example, she knows how to haggle a street vendor until they near give her what they're selling for free. Also, she knows not to go into dark alleys unlike a lot of people these days, apparently. Sheesh.
As for emotionally, she went through quite a bit in a short amount of time; her life quite literally changed when she met Suik, who was "Zero" then, and in that short span of time, experienced quite a few... emotional hurdles, to say, that she overcame one way or another. She can come off as thick-skinned thanks to that.
Weaknesses: Physically, Aeria is nowhere near as fit as she was during her traveling days. She's fit yes, but, much like her magic, her Capoeria and Kendo skills are a little less than perfect. Good enough to beat an amatuer, but not good enough to beat a master or... someone who's had a decent amount of effort put into their combat learnings. It's worth noting that, even if she might use it once in a great while, her spells are still hideous and always go haywire in the end. Still.
Mentally.. well, she never had a proper education: she can read, write and do simple math, but nothing too extravagant. Yes, this means Suik handles their money. Most likely... She does try, though it seems to fall flat. Her usual excuse is, "I'm about to turn fourty! I have a fifteen year old son! I don't have time for this!"
And emotionally -- it goes without saying that while she comes off as thick-skinned, Aeria's attachment to her friends and family render her vunerable to emotional scarring. And... her obsession with Suik and Vinny. Very emotionally weak there. |
